Todas essas fontes me ajudaram imensamente, e pude voltar a refletir e tomar uma decisão.
Ela me ajudou, me fez sentir melhor, me incentivou, me inspirou.
Muitos outros me apoiaram e acreditam que tomei a unica decisõa plausível, escolhi a felicidade.
Concordo com esses últimos. Escolhi a felicidade. Escolhi os sonhos. Assim como todos deveriam fazer.

Decisions. Something we do everyday, at each single moment and that affects our mood, our health, our lives, the life of those who surround us and, in a larger scale, our destiny.
Some people find it very hard to make decisions, either they are easy ones such as picking an ice cream flavor, or complex ones such as choosing a career.
I can’t say I’ve had much trouble making decisions so far. I’ve always had it pretty clear in my mind what I wanted or not, therefore making decisions was always something easy, since there were no doubts to cloud my judgment.
However, the time came when it would all change, as it had to be, sooner or later. So I began to question some decisions made in the past and also reconsidered others that I had to make in the present, as well as their effects on my future.
One thing I did not expect was the huge feeling of anguish that came with this moment of transformation and questioning. Uncertainty is something I wasn’t used to and that was very difficult for me to accept. For someone who always knew exactly what they wanted, thinking that you may have taken the wrong path in order to get to your destination is something that can be quite annoying.
When my inner voice was no longer enough, I had to rely and ask for the advice of those who I admire and love. I got advices from my family, friends, even from authors I like and musicians I listen to. All sources helped me hugely, and I could once again ponder and make a decision.
At this point, it is important to remember that many say music can heal you, and at this moment, I could prove such theory right. Not that you could find all the answers to your problems in lyrics to a song, but if you listen carefully, you can find amazing suggestions. That’s what happened to me. I heard the music “IO (This Time Around)” from Helen Stellar, a song that I had listened to many times before, but that at this point, seemed to distinguish itself from others so clearly. And in the times of anguish, the very hard times, I listened to it over and over again. It helped me, made me feel better, it motivated me, it inspired me. And for that I will always be thankful.
Anyhow, I could make a very hard decision, whose consequences probably will affect the rest of my life. I decided to quit a “good” job as an interior designer, leaving behind the career I had chosen for myself and had always intended on pursuing in order to chase another dream, a bigger dream. A dream not of a career, but of a life. The dream to go to another country, to have other experiences, to meet new people, new places and lifestyles. The dream to reinvent myself. And also the dream of a better life.
I can’t say I regret it. It was a hard decision to make, to give up something so important and to put myself in the position to be judged by others who believe I did something unwise. Many others stood by me and believe that I chose the only possible way, that I chose happiness.
I agree with the latter. I have chosen happiness. I have chosen dreams. As should everyone.
